Even the intelligent is proned to illogic, such as Issac Newton and the fact that he was an alchemist...

Brother, stick to your Guns and put your thought across, religious people don't hold back so why should we? especially as we have a much better argument. I live in the UK where it is normal not to believe in God, which is lucky.

@Deanbass77 I kinda understood it when I was a Christian, but I don't anymore. The thought process is supposed to be that if you love God the most, the good stuff will trickle down to all other parts of your life. We see how well that works out for everyone that goes by that motto.

@clicb4 I remember being deeply disturbed by a poster I saw up in a barber shop when I was about 9 or 10 years old. The poster listed things that should be important to people. Number 3 was friends, number 2 was family, and of course, number one was god. Even at that young age I'm proud to say that I found myself disagreeing completely, even though I was a christian at the time. Hell, that poster might have been one of the things that caused me to abandon religion.

I hate that nervous feeling I get when I either get in debates about my atheism or someone brings up my views of religion. I just want to feel normal about it. btw I live right in the bible belt.

@kpgpwi64 Yeah, living in the bible belt does kinda suck. I just try to stay away from religious conversations because the chances of people agreeing with me are slim.
