Hi, I experience simmilar problems after I put new terminal to the motor, but later I remember the wire from the motor have a skin protection, so I remove it, soldering again and it works perfectly... please try this... it is possible the wire connections are "not perfectly" linked to the bullet connector... so only when high amps are sended by the ESC the motor receives the proper power... try and let me know... I hope it works.
hi!, I got the same motor CF-2805 and also using 18 amp Hobby king Esc....well I
got a same problem as yours. The motor is screeching to start but after it's running then it'll be okay. I used it on my foamie F-22 depron. It's seem that Hobby King esc is cheap and Wysiwyg...ha..ha..sorry wybiwyg. Some said that this motor doesn't have soft start function, that's why it's starting badly.....I don't know. But the best bet, get Turnigy Esc or Emax, they having a smoothes throttle.
