How could you forget that Maynard (went to high school here along with college and his mom whom the song Judith is written to, died in GR) and Anthony Kiedis both are from the Grand Rapids area too? The Grand Rapids area has deep rich music roots if you look hard enough.

@assinabottle1 All thanks to free beer and hot wings.

Oh, hell yes! Was apprehensive about moving back to West Michigan this Spring. Then the Oberon began flowing and, low and behold, GRD has this local band playing some freeeeaking awesome modern blues! (the way I call it, call it what ya want!)Damn, damn, damn! That is a sweet song! Can NOT wait to see my local homies play! Nice job and like the Segar remake!

saw them open for lifehouse today, much different kind of band. sounds like taddy porter meets guns and roses (at least his voice sounds like axl rose). can't wait to see them again some time.

@Rybush06 yes they are

@McCallumImages Try to listen to more than the 4 Pop Evil songs that GRD and the other stations play around here and you will see that they rock plenty hard enough... check out Boss' Daughter, Last Man Standing, Ready or Not(from their first cd) Wayland is actually opening for Pop Evil in Michigan in August ;)

They are ok but still they are basically a Black Crowes copy cat.
-
Fuck yea! finally West Michigan gets an awesome band :D

And also I know he's not from gr, but he went to college here, maynard is the best thing that came out of gr
Amazing music by another local band.
First the GR area produces Pop Evil, now we have Wayland.
There's some excellent unfound musical talent around Grand Rapids.
