I worked for Delta in Greensburg, IN for nearly 2 decades. Old man Manoogian was a decent man, designing & building quality products, insisting on GREAT customer service & treating employees with respect. Employment at Delta then was coveted as wages were very good with excellent benefits. After he died his son took over, immediately looting his daddy's empire. EVERYTHING went to shit. He pilfered from everyone involved. Morale & quality collapsed. I saw the writing on the wall & escaped. Sad.
Take the handle off with an allen wrench and remove the metal cover with an adjustable crescent wrench, then remove the plastic piece. Under the plastic piece still inside the faucet you will see a black stopper type gasket, carefully remove it with a screwdriver , directly under that gasket their is a spring. The spring is the problem, use the allen wrench to pull it out. Then replace the spring or slightly stretch it to get a better compression against the gasket. resemble the unit.
I understand this is not a recent issue, but the loose handle is an allen screw that wasn't properly tightened or "checked" for tight when it was initially installed. Second, Delta faucets are prone to leak with water pressure above 60psi, which every single device is mfg. with incorporating that measure of pressure as "normal". Now, if you're above that number, that can make any faucet leak over time, but Delta faucets give that indicator before other product brands. Hiding a problem isn't good
