New York- On December 10th, around 50 Tibetans and their supporters observed International Human Rights Day with a rally at the United Nations General Assembly Building. Tenzin Dolkar, SFT USA Grassroots Director gives her speech urging all people of conscience to support and protect, and fight for those Tibetans struggling to gain their basic human rights and freedom from the brutal Chinese regime. Tibetans and their supporters called for the immediate release of Tibetan political prisoners including Tenzin Delek Rinpoche, a Tibetan religious leader serving a life sentence in Chinese prison and Dhondup Wangchen, a prominent Tibetan filmmaker detained in March 2008 for interviewing Tibetans about their true feelings on Tibet, China and the Dalai Lama.
