BTW, Rising could have been a tactical "lightning action game" instead of this normalboring DMC shit. People doubting this should examine Toribash and Vanquish, as well as God Hand. I think that Raiden's role as a ninja might have made a liberal use of slow motion, and the use of trajectories in traversal of the environments, a viable and unique game design concept. "Pausing" the action to plot the course of a jump and then timing slashes to meet their mark could have rationalized both the deadliness of the guns of the enemy NPCs and the OHKO nature of Raiden's sword. Intricate control of his limbs and movements would not have been a strange concept to anyone who made their way through MGS4, and that combined with slow motion to minimize the confusion of his agility would have retained a highly cinematic, highly action-oriented aesthetic. Oh well.
