In prime early form, Satch sings "(I'll Be Glad When You're Dead) You Rascal You," "Shine," and plays "Chinatown, My Chinatown." Another plus is that Louis' generally sorry-sounding OKeh-era big band seems to be having a particularly good day. (On the minus side, everything else about this short - from its "plot" to the settings - is stuffed with stereotypes that may offend 21st-century sensibilities.) Regardless how one feels about the trappings of the day, Louis - as always - rises far above the nonsense surrounding him below.

Well,my 21st century sensibilities loved this!I see parallels between:'A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur's Court' and the 'Wizard of OZ'(bump on head transports our hero to somewhere else);do I detect elements of Ralph Kramden+Ed Norton, and Al Bundy(Married With Children)...and speaking of stoners...did Cheech and Chong watch this, then make their movie 'Nice Dreams'?Bill and Ted's schtick?Fantasy sequences in 'The Song Remains the Same'(Led Zeppelin)?Comment is right on,Qwerly45!
