Those guys are better? have they written a Welcome to The Jungle, Nightrain, Paradise City , SCOM, Rocket Queen, Coma, Locomotive, NR solos and Estranged solos? I think not.

I remember fans chanting Axl sucks at a VR concert and Slash took the mic and told them to knock it off.

@machine24 - No but they did help create Chinese Democracy. Which is a masterpiece. AFD is a great album, but I don't give that much credit for past accomplishments. What has he done for me lately? Ruined Paradise City with Fergie and Cyprus Hill.

they did? DJ wasn't on CD, Richard didn't write one song and Bumble played some solos. Bucket, Paul Tobias and Robin Finck were the main writers on the album and are no longer in the band. so these guys are covering Old GNR and CD GNR.

Contraband out sold CD 4 to 1 in the US. won a grammy had two number 1 hits Slither, Fall To Pieces..

@machine24 - VR sucked. Who cares how well it did. CD been out 1.25 years. Contraband has been out 5 years. And true, not all these guys were the main contributers on CD, but the did and do have careers outside of GNR and I base it on that. Besides the first Snakepit album Slash has been horrible for 17 years.

I actually like Slash. I just said that to give my support for Ashba and the other guys. It gets people thinking. I just get sick of people complaining that there's no Slash when these guys are clearly better.

VR's second album Libertad sold all of 700,000 copies WORLDWIDE. it was such a flop that VR were booted by their record company. scott weiland dumped them (or they fired him) -they cant even get their story straight on that one.

meanwhile Slash goes on the Grammys with Jamie Foxx and T-Pain horribly desecrating the November Rain outro. now THAT's humiliating. at least rihanna doesnt need to be drenched in so much Auto-Tune.

LOL! Contraband's total sales worldwide are 4 million. CD sales have been cited as around 5 million by some news sources. :)

VR milked the GNR legacy for all its worth- they played it up in pretty much every interview, did a reality show to find their singer (hokey as hell!). slash took on a martyr pose to play up to the GNR fanbase.

Fortus doesnt have a name as big as Slash- he gets by playing with Rihanna who is INFINITELY superior to Fergie whose coattails Slash hangs on.

excuse me? how were BH and Finck main writers on CD? you'd say just anything to attack GNR 2010, right?

Robin had all of 1 song-writing credit. your blowing that up into being the "main writer" for the album reduces ur credibility to zero.

paul tobias is still associated with GNR in a studio capacity. hes not into touring so he doesnt go on the road with them. BH had writing credits on 3 songs- FAR from the "main writer" for CD.

keep trying. maybe u'll chance upon some truth somewhere.

Well. I doubt that these guys are better and I doubt that these guys are worse. They are just different and that's all.

The main thing is that they rock hard. And nothing else matters.

Axl Rose is amazing here,, but God that original line-up, even with Duff and Slash, was stratospheric. Can you imagine if Slash had just walked out for one (1) song on the tour.

LOL, CB sold 1.5 milllion in the first year and a half, 2 number 1 singles, a grammy and that was without a built in brand name. Richard Fortus plays with N'Sync and Rhianna when not in GNR, Bumble does solo stuff but has never written any significant riffs, DJ is awesome, can't deny that but he has a lot to do before being Slash.
