Damn, Brando is SO HOT in this one!

This is, without a doubt, the greatest western ever made. Its a damn shame the full 5-6 hour version that Brando put together no longer exists.

@catfishs According to the article Jack wrote in Rolling stone magazine after Brando's death, he STILL WAS his Hero.

Also he was a true friend to the American Indian and alot of other minorities and people. The more I think about it, I guess you are right. He was a crackpot.

All I want is for them to allow a limited release of the full 4 1/2+ hour film!!!! ...to see it how Brando edited it. One of my all time favorite westerns... this, Lonesome Dove being the other. The Good The Bad and The Ugly is a classic too

@daxeboy9 Brando was at the height of his acting powers in this film a total crackpot in real life but on form he was the best! I doubt if Johnson was really scared in real life he was a tough horse man and Rodeo champion he was the real deal but knowing Brando the scene with the chair probably wasn't in the script and it looks like it could have startled Johnson...anyway it worked what a great scene.
@ catfish - Why do you refer to him as a Crackpot? It's funny to me, I like him more as a person than as an actor. Do you mean he is a crackpot in the sense that he is differen't from so many people in our society that are pretentious, phony, greedy, self centered, self absorbed and indulgent and proud of it? If only there were a few more people around like him. I just watched 3 differen't hour long interviews with the man and he is totally humble, sincere, unselfish, direct and unfull of shit.

The interveiws I've seen with him I can't understand what he's talking about half the time and if you read some of the books that have been written about him over the years, and you believe only half of whats in them then I think he qualifies for that title. Don't get me wrong I loved him as an actor, but by all accounts he was a very difficult man to work with and liked to humiliate fellow actors directors and film crew. He was Jack Nicholson's hero till he worked with him!

@catfishs I heard he would only take direction from Frank Oz the voice of Miss Piggy if he talked to him in the Miss Piggy voice when he directed Brando in The Score. I would have told Brando to go fuck himself. That's like telling him Oz to "go home and get his fucking shine box."

Ha...Ha that sounds about right! also with the same director he refused to be filmed below the waist and to make sure he took his trouses off and did his scenes in his underpants! There's hundreds of stories like this about him like I said to the other guy nothing personal I thought he was the best actor ever but he was a bit odd to say the least.

@catfishs I feel the same way. Daniel Day Lewis is my all time favorite but Brando is right behind him. DDL is a little weird too. The price you have to pay for working with genius I guess.

Yeah, I think your right in the real world they wouldn't have the luxury of being excentric too many real problems like paying the bills and keeping a roof over your head.....now thats the real world!
