I spiked someone doing this keeping the threestock

yeah i see what you mean, but do you realize how good a full charged diddy recovery is? It Will take you from one end of the map back to at least the edge lol, so 1 jump depending on where you are isnt exactly a waste, especially cause once you jump and do it, you stall you dont go down he floats then flies lol.

@ditan12 yeah your probably right, plus its really risky even to get hit like that and then start it
-
hmm.. not much since you waste your jump =\ well maybe..

The reason you can only do it after you get hit is because you experience hitstun; that is when you can momentum cancel. To discourage momentum canceling with special moves, the developers made it so you get a upwards boost if you try to use one. This is bad if you're near the top of the screen, but it can be pretty effective near the bottom of the screen. The only three momentum altering special moves that aren't affected by this are DK's up-b, Yoshi's side-b, and Game and Watch's down-b.

wow this is an amazing find, im a Diddy main so this could come in handy some time, ill just need to do some hight testing to see if its worth it.

Yoou can do this with Luigi's side-B too. Really helps for DI.

i found this out to all you have to do is get hit then jump and do up at same time
-
but the distance you recover by doing this glitch is greater than the one you haved by doing the second jump separately? Well at least the vertical distance because it seems to sacrifice the horizontal
At first i thought this too, but you can use it off of a spike. It saves you often, and once I had this game against Marth where he spiked me down, and I used this technique, which got me to the edge before him, and he ended up dying becuase I was edgehogging ;D

All that is happening is your jumping with the momentum of being hit up. Then your UP-B drifts up. Alot of characters can do this. It's pretty evident when using Sheik's or Sonic's Dair, how you drift up a little and the attack no longer causes you to rush at the ground.
