More foreign leaders have visited their local Chinese embassies and expressed their condolences to the victims of the earthquake.
On Wednesday, Japanese prime minister Yasuo Fukuda visited the Chinese embassy in Tokyo and signed the condolence book and observed silence for the victims. He said that the Japanese government is willing to assist China to fight the disaster.
Brazilian vice president Jose Alencar went to the Chinese embassy in Brasilia to send his condolences and sympathy for the tens of thousands of people suffering in the quake's aftermath.
Arlindo Chinaglia, the president of the Chamber of Deputies of Brazil also visited the Chinese embassy to express his condolences. He said he believes that the Chinese people are wise and brave, and will overcome the disaster.
