Ruth Silon, Project Director, Developmental Education Initiative, Cuyahoga Community College, OH, in conversation with Amee Godwin of ISKME, for CompletionMatters.org, Conversations on College Completion.

Ruth Silon talks about work being done as part of DEI (Developmental Education Initiative) at the community college system known as Tri-C in Ohio, to scale up promising efforts for student success.

Supplemental Instruction - a program that places model students in the classroom will be part of a new mandatory college-wide model for teaching math and English.

Cooperative Learning: following a successful model created at Patrick Henry Community College, student engagement and accountability are supported and enhanced through faculty-facilitated collaborative student work.

Tri-C is gathering data and measuring success around student attitude changes, training needed for leaders of the programs and how to sustain these models after the DEI grant period.
