  • Considering how important this piece in the understanding of Liszt's development...it is wonderful to actually hear what so astonished audiences. It is almost impossible not to see such a performance in your mind while listening to it....Mr. Howard i am in your debt...and Liszt73...thank you for this incredible chance to relive my hero's life!!

  • Ahh, this takes me right back to those crazy revolutionary days of the 1830s.

  • I had only ever read about this transcription up until now. Even today, this sounds more or less like nothing else ever done on the piano, but imagine what it must have sounded like then. Very impressive, and probably a herculean effort to boot.

    Why don't pianists play this more often? It rules.
