Windhaven Teaser Trailer (DreamBuildPlay 2010)

What would it really be like, to fly like a bird? Find out with Windhaven, coming to the Xbox360 and PC this year. The change from aircraft to birds is not cosmetic; Windhaven uses a unique control layout (one stick for each wing) and physics model to capture the experience of bird flight.

The story mode follows a team of four brave bird-shifters called upon to defend their home against an extradimensional horde. Use varied magical attacks and the island's defense network to hold back the tide. Challenge mode tests your aerial skills with racing, soaring and target shooting events. A fully voiced tutorial gets you off to a flying start, while free flight mode lets you brush up your skills and take in the scenery. Finally versus and co-op multiplayer, online and split-screen, will ensure the skies never seem lonely.

The music in the beginning that has that "soaring" sound (the air rushing past your ears as you fly), what is that music, is it available? The sound is a part of the music? Because I really love it...

@birdheartedgirl This music was existing royalty free music licensed for the game; unfortunately I do not have permission to distribute it separately. The wind noise is the game sound effects, not part of the music.

Wow, as a swan therian, I'm so happy to see a realistic game designed to let you play as a swan! I really hope there will be a PC release, I don't have Xbox 360 and I can't buy one just for this game! But I need to play it! I'm in love!

@birdheartedgirl Alaysia (the swan) is my favourite, that is why she is in so many of the dev videos. You can see the swan doing water landings and takeoffs about half way through video #13. I will release on the PC if I can find a publisher for the game.
