This is often misinterpreted. While Buckley was certainly no match for Chomsky, he wasn't threatening to punch him. He was referencing his interview with Gore Vidal, in which he really did threaten to punch Vidal. That was why Chomsky and Buckley were laughing right after he said it. I don't defend Buckley, but at least he was big enough to laugh at himself.

@kzargentina Buckley's problem was that he consented to an actual, logical debate, which of course no hardcore conservative would last 30 seconds in. The conservative relies on a toolbox of magic tricks and showmanship to argue, not logic

how did he prove your joke about 10 generations wrong? he has to learn to read more careflly

i think your wrong, there is a reason why he is internationally illustrious for his brilliant theories i personally feel you are too stupid to understand

Noam Chomsky knows more than you and your whole family going back 10 ten generations, combined. Free speech bitch.
William F. Buckley was so pissed off at Chomsky when he debated him that he said he wanted to punch him, and never invited him back again. In spite of interrupting Chomsky continually, Buckley was no match for him.
