It's June 15th 2010. From a nest ledge on the side of Derby Cathedral in England, one peregrine falcon chick has already left its nest. Here we see the second chick exercising its wings in readiness for its first flight.

Very happy to see that they have both now fledged successfully.
I must admit it broke my heart when I found out that one of the 4 chicks died, so you can imagine how devastated I was when the second one died.
Still, I must admit I feel very privileged to have seen such an amazing display of nature - good and bad.
Will certainly be tuning in next year!
