The Reverend Peyton's Big Damn Band - My Soul To Keep

This is my second version of this song, shot one year later. But you can see just how much they changed it over time. This is at Knuckleheads Saloon in Kansas City, MO. It's down in an area known as "The Bottoms". The outdoor stage is right next to an active railroad track, and you can hear a train whistle right in the middle of the song.

I shot this with my new Canon XH-A1 camera.

I love RAP, JAZZ and R&B and these are are incredible... Reminds me of grandma and granddaddy music. That slide guitar and washboard Breezy are too much,. I need to see them really bad.....

They are getting started on a new tour that will take them all over the US - they were supposed to play Europe, but got stopped by the Icelandic volcano. They are going to be doing a web cast on UStream on the 3rd.

These guys have too good taste in music to be playing at Warp Tour, a bunch of emo bitches aren't gonna wanna listen to this GREAT stuff. Oh well, they must really need the attention or something....

It's a huge tour that draws giant crowds, not just "a bunch of emo bitches". Also, the tickets are cheap, which means a lot of kids go even if they are not into whoever is headlining, in hopes of discovering cool new bands.

They got a great response from the crowd last year, which is why they are going to play every date on the tour on a bigger stage.

I just learned that Jayme, the drummer is no longer with the band.

Jamie got married and tired of life on the road. It's not an easy life, spending every day traveling. But their cousin Aaron does a great job and is a nice guy and fits in perfectly.

Absolutely! They were on the Kevin Says stage for half of it this year, and are going to be on the entire tour, on a bigger stage this year. (I guess taking Kevin fishing paid off!)

The Big Damn Band are on the same label as Flogging Molly, who they toured with a year or so ago. Like Flogging Molly, they take a classic genre of music and play it with punk energy.

The Rev, Jayme and Breezy show that it is possible to rock extremely hard on acoustic instruments.

They are great,I would love for them to play the Melody Inn again.That is the bar that gave them their start.
