  • The movie takes place somewhere in 140 AD. The charriots were considered outdated in that time. The problem of this scene is that the Romans used the tortoise (testudo) formation so they couldn't carry javelins I guess. If they did the charriots shouldn't be problem because they could attact only 2 or 3 at once. These Romans were no greenhorns, they were deployed there some time before centurion came so I believe that fear wouldn't be an issue. Of course he took the best men. ;-)

  • @InnerSentry Besides that tactic would proboably not work if its 30infantry soldiers against 10+ chariots.

  • @InnerSentry They never lay down theire arms, the wepons on the ground is from a previouse battle.

As I wrote I dun know if its in that period or not that they used that tactic but I dun think u know that either.Or u mean the first time/times roman soldier fought in battles against chariots they had that tactic? I woulden think so, and I would think that when the romans start to use this tactic and if it was as succses full as u claim theire enemies would stop using chariots.

  • @Uuuurk ''fear is not equal to logic'' Yet you say that they can think well enough to all come up with a unified idea to lay down their arms to block the chariots. Nice hipocrisy. And how do you know when they did and when they didn't have those ''tactics'', so it could be that they didn't, but they probably did, cause if they didn't, the roman army never would have been so succesfull in some particular battles.

  • @Uuuurk

this is 100% true but COOLrunnings369 is an internet warrior and holds many titles

  • @InnerSentry fear is not equal to logic. Anyways 30soldiers(who recently fought a battle?) against 10+ chariots. Theres a limitid number of steps u can take before u get runned over.

Now I do not know when this movie is taking place. But saying that the Romans had tactics against chariots does not mean that they had those tactics during the 1200years of Rome.

  • @siegeghost100 as i wrote the romans tactics was to scare them yes...

  • @mariomario9595 Good idea, let's throw away our shield and swords. Oh wait, now we are sitting ducks.

  • @Nitoryuu Or not.

  • @AliiiiLewis It's not hard to find. Basically, he points out that there are many Roman strategies for dealing with chariots and that the Centurion doomed his men by ordering them to run.
