A sperm cell, and an egg (both of which are alive) fuse and form a zygote. Then what? does the zygote STOP LIVING for 18-25 days? then does it magically become alive? No. The fact is that a fetus is a human life because, yes , it is alive; and it is the offspring of a human egg, and a human sperm. Things do not magically become humans after however long; that is preposterous.

Abortion is NOT completely a religious issue. If you apply reason, science, and logic to the issue of abortion, you will ultimately arrive at the conclusion that abortion is wrong and is murder. You might arrive at that conclusion anyway or not by listening to pro choice OR pro life propaganda. Today we define something as being alive if it meets 3 criteria. If it maintains homeostasis, can grow, and responds to stimuli. a fetus is alive and the offspring of two humans therfore it is human.
