The Beatles were one of Jeff's favorite groups. You can hear George Harrison riffs in many songs. Just like his Roy Orbison sounds on some songs. What surprises me is how long it took Jeff Lynne to take the credit for all of his work. Great man, great band, great music!! Timeless!

All this comparison stuff between ELO and the Beatles! The only thing I can see they have in common is that Jeff Lynn's voice is similar to John Lennon's. Oh, and they are both British! Both bands were gifted, in different ways!

No comparisons. The Beatles did the best at what they did, ELO and Jeff Lynne did the best at what they/he did. I love them both and do no comparisons. Each got the green light during their hey days. I'll take them both.

This song is clearly Lynne doing the Lennon thing, in fact, that's why I love it! Was he "better" than Lennon? I don't think imitation is ever better than the real thing but it can be pretty entertaining.
