@ProjectMaster2000 Actually, MGM is no longer affiliated with Bally's. At some point they were though. Bally's and the Paris are now both owned by Harrah's.
@anacrobat89 Are you sure that you mean MGM was connected to Ballys? The current MGM grand is seven tenths of a mile from Ballys and it opened in 1973. I am not aware of any hotel sporting the MGM name ever being in the vicinity of Ballys. Maybe it was a hotel owned by MGM but with a different name?
this is a decent hotel. i stayed there about 7 years ago. at one time they had my favorite buffet there with unlimited crab legs. i might stay there again. the hotel is getting old though.
@oplopoplop Ah, thanks for clarifying. Many of the casinos there have changed hands so many times it makes you head spin. Bally's and MGM were once connected but that's obviously changed since.
MGM Resorts owns the majority on the strip such as MGM Grand, Mandalay Bay, Luxor, Excalibur, Bellagio, CityCenter, Mirage etc
Wynn Resorts owns Wynn and Encore
Las Vegas Sands owns Venetian and Palazzo

MGM and LVS are publically traded companies which I own shares, so I know exactly which hotels they own. Harrah's is currently not a publicly traded company.
I stayed in Bally's in May (My birthday week) and asked for an upgrade but they couldn't accomadate (I wanted a free one ;)). The last night I upgraded to a north tower junior suite and it was NICE. I wished I had upgraded before then. If you stay in the south tower, ask for a room facing Paris and Bellagio. It's fantastic to see the fountains.

The Paris is owned by Bally's, hence why they're connected. Bally's owns the MGM Grand as well.
