If he was at SPI the redfish is legal, u can catch 1 redfish more than 28 inches per licence per year and counts as one fish of your daily bag...

Dosent matter Florida or not. When redfish get that big u might aswell release them they really dont taste the same when they get that big. Not to mention depending on the time of year the fish could of had worms.

the meat is not tough asshole. that is just something that is said so people will release the fish. i believe in catch and release, but that was my biggest catch and i took it legally. if i catch anymore that size they will be released, not that its any of your business you piece of shit.

this was at port aransas. we decided to tag the red and take it home. my father had gotten a bigger bite that snapped the hook he was using. who knows what that was.
