  • dude. bartok has to be like the best contemporary composer ever. he was a really incredible guy.

  • This is a hungarian folk ballade. "Kádár Kata" in hun.

Marton Gyula and his mom talking about Kata Kadár. Marton want to married with Kata, but his mum don't allowed because Kata is poor. (Marton's family is rich, and esquire).

Martons mum killed Kata, so Marton killed himeself.

Marton funeral in the temple, Katas in the temple's garden.. From the 2 crops grow 2 flower, and in outside interlock the 2 flower.

This is the fulfillment for the love.

    Sorry. My english is terrible.

  • I have a cd on the Pearl label (from UK) titled ' Bartok & Kodaly: Hungarian Folk Music' with piano by Bela Bartok, vocals by Maria Basilides, VIlma Medgyaszay & Frenec Sekelyhidy and is one of the all time fave cds in my collection. The singer of this song is Vilma Medgyaszay and is a stunning performance recorded in 1928-29.

  • Absolutely exquisite music - a great cooperation of a clear, sensitive yet earthy voice and Bartok as a great composer and superb pianist.

  • I wish I could understand what she's singing.

  • @BigStick3456 bartok is sooo new sounding, i'm tired of all the german romanticism and french romanticism or even russian romanticism that pre-dominates all of classical music...it's time for some more exotic sound & that's precisely what Bartok was able to bring to the world.

  • @BigStick3456 The singer is Erzsi Török, great singer, one of the few who sang Bartók before the 2nd world war. Bartók was refused by the conservative public.

  • Hungarians sure have happy stories don't they?

Beautiful song anyway. I only recently discovered Bartok, it's amazing.

  • his music is def. amazing, some of the most unique shit ive ever heard, ever.

  • jaj de hülye vagyok..."mint Bartók." helyett "ellentétbe bartókkal" akartam irni.
