That's fast..
But before the twin towers in Manhattan were destroyed... back in the 80s my mother worked at the towers and she often took me to see her office when she worked there. I rode in those elevators.. I remember feeling g-forces as I rode on them.. I mean my throat went to my knees.. going up and in seconds we were around the 80th floor or so..
I mean in like 20 seconds! going down when I was younger I used to jump as it went down and I would nearly hit my head on the ceiling.

It is an old elevator, it must have been built in 1970. I wonder if it has been modernized yet...

Truly Japanese elevator made by Mitsubishi!
BTW, I hope the Japanese are OK after the devastating earthquake/tsunami, the worst since the earthquake in Haiti last year.

Everytimes I read such comments from people who had the possibility to visit WTC I feel sad because I would have appreciated so much to have had the same possibility :( What wonderful complex they should have been, when they stood over Manhattan...

@Mamba205 Its hella sick, i've been in one before. It goes up very (About 3 floors a second) and since it goes up that fast, the air pressure changes, so you have to swallow your spit

@MrSidMan I remember when I went to the top of the World Trade Center that elevator was fast! There was a sign inside that said "as you decend you are becoming (I cant remember how many) pounds lighter. Felt like an amusement park ride.

I'd have these reoccuring dreams of a certain building or plaza where the elevators were uncomfortably and curiously too fast.. Enough to give some good butterflies in the tummy. Being a resident to Las Vegas, we are frequently using elevators, but nothing matches these speeds... Stratosphere maybe, but I don't know exactly how fast it is..Seen some crazy things like the doors would open before it was fully level with the destination floor, halfway between levels! That could be a huge hazard.
Yeah, I felt same way when I went up in Sears Tower elevator! I thought my ears were going pop!
