@jkowalcyk Go to your City or Town Hall and ask for the percentage allocated for school supplies and the amount allocated for salaries and benefits. The workers at Town Hall are public union employees so you will get a hard time getting the info.
Ask what perecentage of teacher's paychecks does the taxpayer pay towards the teacher pensions.
In private companies the employer pays 5% and employee pays 5% toward SS.
Here, taxpayers contribute 20% of teacher's pay toward thier pensions!

Do you know that the number one reason people DON'T go into teaching is because of the salary? That's like saying you joined the military to make a lot of money.
