This is how to find if your Desire has s-lcd screen but no Amoled. HTC dont use anymore Amoled screen so if u are getting this phone in nowdays, then u might have a change get S-LCD.

There is minimal difference between screen, but still i dont give a shit about it.
SLCD has that back light bleeding in the right uppercorner. My camera is faking it so its not so big! Trust me, its not "problem"

  • Only because you damaged your display doesnt mean all SLCD have that. None of them do, you have damaged your display

  • is this problem? to help you understand me i am saying that in black images this spot of the screen it seems to be more luminant than the rest of the screen. like the black color is washed out a little bit

  • hi guys. i bought desire 3 days ago and i noticed a similar problem. my concern is that you say that this backlight issue you see it at your upper right corner as you see the device. in my phone i see this problem at the left side of the screen as i see the device and not in the right in vertical position.

  • I bought a Desire two days ago and today i started noticing that backlight in the righ top corner. I know my device was not an AMOLED and just like @kirbsmeiter2 said I thought it was a problem. It's just noticed when the screen is completely black, so no big problem, and it isn't as bright as it is in the video, just like you've said.

    Great video.

  • Well, at least SLCD provides of accurate colors (I prefer better colors (in general) than just a 'black' and bad quality of images (samoled)).

BTW, I love the Desire :)

  • Wow thanks for uploading this! When I noticed backlight bleeding in the top right of my new Desire I freaked a bit. But it's very reassuring to see it's just a universal issue with SLCD, not that my handset's faulty :-)
