I think the start here is a good thing to show younger rowers who like to fly and die: the best rowers (medalists) are in 4th 5th and 6th while the rest of the field blasts out

@danieldaniel705 the guys that came second ;)

i've tried to row that "tufte style" in double scull (2xJM) on Bled, i was fifth after start, but i finished the race second though :(((

wich lane is juri jaanson?

yea i was happy she finally got some competition haha! watching a procession isnt exciting ^^ this year Frida Svensson really stepped up from her previous performances, hope she can again till london olympics, i wanna see some world records broke!
-
@srsly101 And I can agree with that. I don't think she has had any real competition until this last year when Emma Twig from New Zealand and Frida Svensson from Sweden came up to challenge her. So ya I agree with what you are saying :) women haven't had the same level of competition until lately. They are coming strong though

@ChadAndrewsLovesGod true, but i feel the dominance of karsten in the last few years, apart from a few slip ups, shows that the standard in general is not as high, but fair enough :)

@srsly101 mmm I would say women's sculling in the singles is almost up to what the men's is. They have 3 or 4 major top scullers like the men do with people who pop in here or there. They have to train just as much as men. I know Ursula Grobler from the USA lightweight women's double and seen how hard she works. I've raced her before just as she started training for world class rowing. And I watched her break the leightweight world record on the erg. Women are good haha and ya i hope so too :)

@ChadAndrewsLovesGod womans rowing standard isnt the best comparatively, most countries dont have their best in the scull, but point taken, like i said i hope he wins a medal at least :)
-
@srsly101 Well look at Karsten on the women's side, she was 38 for the 2010 world champs at Kairapiro and took 2nd by a half a second or less. and she won at the olympics in 2008 and worlds in 2009. I think he still has time. He'll be 36 at the games
If I have lost my motivation to row, I always watch this video, how Jüri Jaanson rows.
