the only reason Sikhs lost the anglo Sikh wars was because after Maharaja Ranjit Singh died, Hindu Dogras took control of the Khalsa who ordered the Khalsa not to fire at decisive moments, they also ordered the Sikh cannons to fire on the Nihangs causing the deaths of 30,000 Nihangs in one go. Thats why the British won. In first skirmishes, the British were defeated badly, Brits only won through divide and rule
