Okay, they are real pretty planes and look great flying around in the sky....but can they hold their own in a dogfight?

the german tornados are solely for air to ground missions, the tornado is the best jet when it comes to fly very low at a very high speed.

Okay, "skarrois," if that is their designated role then it is a point well made. The hated regime of Hitler aside, I must say that I am gladdened to see that Germany can still produce topnotch military hardware and saddened to see that this once proud nation is now so demoralized by reminders of its own past. Germany has contributed great things to engineering, to science and to the arts. I am one American who would like to see Germans feel more pride in their own past accomplishments.

Der EF wird den Tornado nicht ganz ersetzen, da er halt nicht über dessen Fähigkeiten /Tiefflug) verfügt.

Ein Teil der Tornadoflotte soll AFAIK noch bis 2025 im Einsatz bleiben. Was dann passiert ist ungewiss.

@fw114 For once I have to agree with you.  And I'll leave you with one parting concession regarding military matters: Field Marshall Erwin Rommel was undoubtedly the best general on any side during World War II and if he'd been able to get resupplied he would likely have won in North Africa.

@fw114 Well if you're a German and you're proud of Germany's war effort under the Nazis it kind of makes you look like a Nazi sympathizer, don't you think? As for the American Indians, yes, they got screwed but now they are getting rich owning gambling casinos and they get all sorts of special privileges from the gov't.
