Carl Perkins is playing his 52/53 Gibson Les Paul Gold Top with two P-90 Pickups and a "trapeze" tailpiece. That sound is solid gold!

The 2nd song is "Matchbox" written and recorded by Carl Perkins in 1956 on Sun Records. Carl Perkins' early Sun recordings are awesome. "Its to late" is my Clapton song.

eric drug addiction was not the reason the band split up! Tension had been growing and Jim Gordan made a petty-sarcastic comment to Eric and EC just decided right then and there, that was it. Picked up guitar and left the room........the heroin THEN started kicking in heavy....(trust me on this)

To TristanJB5: Oh I believe you. I know heroin was going around heavy during these sessions. I believe it was John Mendelson from Rolling Stone who showed up and everyone was practically on the floor! The situation with Jim Gordon is a sad one. My mom got to meet and chat with him right as he was joining Traffic in Aug. of 1971. My mom was friends with a D&B style band called Formula. D&B and Jim Gordon showed up at a show that Formula threw for my mom's 23rd birthday.
