  • why is so short?

  • This is a local freight railroad, they just have the passenger cars for special runs for charity and such. They are not in revenue service.

  • What? The train is running in Saint John again! I wish! Great video, I had no idea they did this.. more detail please!

  • NB Southern operates offers local train rides several times a year, with proceeds to the local hospital charity. It travels from Saint John to Welsford and back, in about two hours. They had three such trains this past weekend, but it rained heavily all the time so I didn't bother chasing it this time. Probably again this fall.

  • They had this service about fifteen years ago when Via rail ran the Atlantic. When Canadian Pacific closed their tracks in the maritimes, so went the train.

  • They should introduce regular passenger service between St John and Moncton.
