DALLAS - Dallas police have arrested a teenager for shooting and killing a young aspiring boxer.
Police said 15-year-old Jerson Archaga was shot in the head last week outside his home in the 9000 block of Grove Oaks Boulevard.
Witnesses told police he approached a car that had pulled up in front of the house and was shot.
He was taken to Baylor Hospital where he later died.
On Thursday police arrested a 16-year-old suspect for Archagas murder. His name was not released because he is a minor.
Details about a motive in the case could be released on Friday, police said.
Friends and family said Archaga was part of a police-sponsored boxing team. He was training for an upcoming tournament.
Those who knew him believe his death was a case of mistaken identity.
There was nothing out of the ordinary. He was apparently a good kid. He had no problems with anyone and wasnt in any type of trouble, said Sr. Cpl. Kevin Janse.
