Runescape vs. World of Warcraft

As of 9/5/11, comments are now disabled. I'm tired of my email inbox getting spammed with comments from this video and this video alone. I also think all the arguments have been played out; there's nothing fresh to bring to the table.

*Final Update* (10/29/10): I actually have an opinion now, seeing as I've played both games, and have the money for memberships to both. See video for opinion.

I don't have a bias, I'm just providing grounds for you to voice your opinions. NO STUPID CLEARLY BIASED COMMENTS! I hate seeing "wow pwns rs cause its for little kids who cant afford anything" and "omg rs doesn't have bad graphics, you suk!" Constructive comments, CONSTRUCTIVE! Post away, my friends.

Even only having played WoW for a short time, I could still tell it was a far superior game.

Variety. Complexity. Community.

That's what immediately impressed me.

Runescape was more just...idle fun. When you had nothing better to do, that's when you played. In RS, to play, and play well... it's a test of patience, rather than of skill. To get to max level is a real accomplishment, though. Shame you have to spend the better portion of your life to do it.

TL;DR: WoW wins, RS is mediocre.

The only reasons you play/like RS instead, are these:

1) You can't afford it / not worthwhile

2) You have too much put into RS to switch

3) You're ridiculously biased for some reason

Seriously, WoW trumps in every aspect, save for grinding...but in MMO's, that's unavoidable.

I, for one, found WoW to actually be kind of boring, but then again, RS didn't hold my interest for long, either. My interest in gaming has shifted almost entirely towards FPS and Xbox.

@taraketanclan with all those expansions being anywhere fom 20 to 60 bucks if u were to not buy them how long would u last? and Dragon Age can easily last you 20 to 35 hours of each character.As for repetative,not really. You must not be very patient.BUT if u have money to blow out ur ass go head and play wow. Please dont reply i felt annoyed writing this as it is.

@tjisgone AND there is no online play and it gets repetative after one go through the story. With WoW they continue adding expansions, raids, dungeons, and quests. After you max out on character (coupala months) you can start a new one and level by questing in the areas you didn't before, one last note for every realm on WoW you can have 10 characters and 50 characters total. 3 months to each character x 50? 150 months of proven gameplay?
