You should also research the NDAA (National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2012). Specifically section 1021, it allows the indefinite detention of U.S. citizens without trial and without rights to a lawyer. Basically the President can order anyone arrested, or any group. Meaning if the President said so, he could have everyone that believes in an extraterrestrial presence or 'conspiracy theory' arrested and held against their will indefinitely.
