I was saying that they should've been singing in cockney accents, which is why American sounded out of place and odd.

I agree, the American accent of the children sounds really odd, but accents AND singing at the same time is difficult for little ones, no need to be so harsh!

I would have gone with a cockney accent except no one in the audience would have understood what I was saying so we opted to scale the accent down. The kids would have been all over the place and it would have sounded terrible. Thanks for the comments, Bob.
