Hop harvest, oh yea, FREE HOPS

This is the haul I got from the wild hops that Markie turned me on to. They grow down by the railroad tracks near the Petoskey Football Stadium. I imagine there was a brewery in town at some time in the past, maybe they came in on railcars? I don't know. Please comment on them if you have any idea what they are, sorry I don't have a shot of the leaves. They are a three bladed, fingered or whatever. I will do some more research.

a couple of questions 1.did you ever find out what kind they are.

2.ive been reading about wet hopping are you going to dry hop or wet hop with these?

I'm not sure what you mean about wet and dry.  What I did is bagged them up in ounces, put them in the freezer. When I brewed with them 2 weeks ago for the first time, I got a pale ale kit and just added the whole ounce to the primary (after the yeast), they just floated there the whole time. The beer is awesome very hoppy cuz I did not delete the ones that came with the kit, so this batch is triple hopped. Some friends like it too.

This turned out to be 4 one gallon baggies stuffed full.  As a matter of fact since you posted, my friend in Kalamazoo is a chemical engineer and homebrewer. He is going to analize them in the lab. Fun Fun, brew on!! Dean

i got some in ER, that area has a lot of wild hops. good mushrooms, too, but i advise reading on that before you eat any

heads up Dean you have wild hops close to your house. Over on Greenwood rd. Roy French's place next to the creek. Ask Jackie about getting them.

@scottman12 I don't know about hops can cure asthma and insomnia , but I know for sure that hops can make women's boobs get bigger just like if they drink beer also make boobs get bigger. Well, I guess hops can be natural cure for some diseases and helps women to make their breasts bigger.
