I NO LONGER WORK FOR THE MUSICIAN'S DEN, I NOW RESIDE AT THE GUITAR LAB, YOU CAN CONTACT ME EITHER HERE ON YOUTUBE OR BY SENDING A MESSAGE TO JASON@THEGUITARLAB.COM

Jason from The Musician's Den in Evansville Indiana walks us through a refret on an '03 MIM Fender Stratocaster neck where YouTubers get to vote on the materials and specs.

In part 3, we clean up the fret slots a little, then jig the neck up and get it straight. Also, the fingerboard top is smoothed out in preparation for laying out a few lines to help me out when we begin changing the radius from a 9.5" to a 12".

  • hey jason. don't you think that it is extremely unethical for a guy to give a price of $350. them call you when the guitar is in pieces and say "o, it's gonna be double? thats what happened to us, and thats why we wana come to you. God bless.

  • @lonestar7703 It might be. Depending on the nature of the work, it's sometimes unadvisable to even give an estimate until you have the guitar in front of you. When the work leans heavily towards restoration or repair, the price could change dramatically based on what was discovered. However if it's something routine like pickup changes, string nuts or maybe even refrets I have a hard time imagining the price doubling unless the guitar was found to have a broken truss rod or something...

  • Man I've been waiting for this almost a year now!...if your'e not going to do this you might as well take this video down so we aren't left guessing anymore

  • @superskwrl Yeah, sorry 'bout that. You want a refund or something LOL. I'll be back on that series eventually, honest. Life intervened last year and any spare time I had to do things like videos disappeared in a big hurry.

  • hey Jason greetings from Greece!! I m waiting for the rest videos of this refret. Pleaseeee upload them my friend.

  • @tsirok539 I plan on resuming this series soon, I'm finishing up a couple of jobs and should be able to get back on this one soon.

  • I like the curvey stripe going down the fretboard !

Your vids are great.I learn alot from you.

  • @smbstressfest I also just want to say thanks for your responding. I know you're probably very busy.

  • @smbstressfest Actually it was a refret job, and the guy is a guitar builder. His cheapest guitar is about $1800. He said that the extra charges were due to the amount of time it took him to clean the slots. I thought that cleaning the slots would have been part of doing a refret. We (my teacher and I) feel like we are being taken advantage of.

  • @smbstressfest lol sorry if I sounded ungrateful (I must have forgotten for a second that these videos are just for fun)...anyways I love watching your videos when I'm bored and I totally understand the time thing, and if you don't have time to post another video in the future, thats ok with me, you already have a lot of cool stuff

  • I NEED BIDING MY GUITAR NECK, SOMEBODY HELP ME PLEASE. THANK YOU.
