Blankenship's Rocks

Blankenship's Rocks near Newburg/Brockwell, Arkansas. A local legend tells of a man dying on these rocks as he was trying desperately to reach the nearest doctor at Brockwell from his home near Newburg after his wife sliced his neck open with a sharp axe. The woman was not charged in the murder as the husband was known to have been very abusive to her.
Over the history of Izard County, these rocks have been utilized for picnics and social gatherings on special days like Easter Sunday.
