A charada veio do Oriente Médio
Em tramas voadoras.
Os Olhos do mundo viram
As inesquecíveis Torres bambas.
Quando o pesadelo em poeira
Invadiu Manhattan
Incrédulos sentiram suas razões
Oscilarem e flutuarem perdidas.
Quem viu não acreditou,
O mundo de boca aberta ficou.
Quem presenciou não deu conta,
Que o início do século 21 marcou.
Que foi manchado, foi selado, foi velado.
Manchetes diárias sobre Nova York
Mostravam a coluna da insensatez subir, subir, subir.
Choravam perdidos entre edifícios combalidos
Repórteres enviados à Nova York.
E eu que acreditava na invencibilidade americana
E eu que acreditava na responsabilidade americana
E eu que acreditava na intangibilidade americana
Vi a sua tal fragilidade,
Vi sua letal debilidade.
Meus olhos refletiam o pentágono na tela da tv
Em chamas, fumaça manchando o céu da América.
Seus heróis em vermelho brilhante não podem crer
Que suas armas serão a salvação da população.
Sirenes gritantes ecoam pelo ar de Manhattan
Caças rompem a atmosfera do céu de Manhattan
Enquanto um cidadão chora pelas vidas de Manhattan
Todos percebem a paisagem d'outra Manhattan
Manhattan sem seus pilares ainda sobrevive
Manhattan seus defensores ainda resistem
Manhattan suas maravilhas ainda persistem
Manhattan, Manhattan, Manhattan
Manhattan suas Madonnas crêem na sua vitalidade
Manhattan seus soldados crêem na sua credibilidade
Ôh Manhattan hummmmmm! Manhattan.

Manhattan
The puzzle came from the Middle East
In plots flying.
The eyes of the world saw
The unforgettable Torres wobbly.
When the dust nightmare
invaded Manhattan
Unbelievers felt their reasons
Swing and float lost.
Who saw did not believe,
The world stood open-mouthed.
Who witnessed not realized,
That marked the beginning of the 21st century.
That was stained, sealed, was veiled.
Daily headlines about New York
Column showed the folly of climbing, climb, climb.
Cried buildings lost among beleaguered
Reporters sent to New York.
And I believed in the invincibility American
And I believed in the American responsibility
And I believed in the inviolability U.S.
I saw her as fragile,
I saw his fatal weakness.
My eyes reflected the Pentagon on the TV screen
In flames, smoke stained the skies of America.
His heroes in red can not believe
That their weapons will be the salvation of the population.
Sirens screaming echoed through the air in Manhattan
Fighter disrupt the atmosphere of the sky of Manhattan
As a citizen cries for the lives of Manhattan
Everyone realizes the landscape d'another Manhattan
Manhattan pillars still survive without their
Manhattan its supporters still resist
Manhattan its wonders still remain
Manhattan, Manhattan, Manhattan
Manhattan Madonna believe in their vitality
Manhattan soldiers believe in their credibility
Manhattan hummmmmm Oh! Manhattan.
