I think it'd need a little more "tang"... The blade should extend into the shaft a little more. These weapons are subject to a lot of stress, strikes against hard surfaces or objects can seriously damage a weapon.
Also I think using a tube as a staff isn't great. For one, it can only be a strong metal (say steal) to withstand fighting, and that would weigh a LOT. Plus it wouldn't absorb vibrations at all, making strikes against armour or weapons very painfull in the long run, for your joints.

Cool..looks like the blade can be adjusted in position by undoing that bolt...awesome.
-
good idea and it may look cool but... looks may be decieving... itll probably have a bad perfomance
-
the blade is only held in place by a small nail , that wont hold under pressure

Zasalamel... no-one... not even close.

Oooo, Zasalamel anyone?

Yes it would be a Great design if you can get it made out of High Carbon folded steels and a High Grade Aluminum handle.Try to get it Rendered. You might make some money pal. Heck I would buy it.

omg I've been looking for a scythe, but this is gold actually, though the blade is a little small for any sort of practical use and like a field scythe it should have a handle ( if not 2) for greater control over the direction and force of the head, great job rendering and forget about the sound ^_^
that would be baddass for harvesting my oats with

i think that making a real one would've been easier than making this 3-d model
