I learned this at a Celeste Meade seminar and it has really helped with Trek's ability to move his rear end while heeling.

  • Wow! That was so interesting! Does the click mean Trek did it correctly?

  • This is called clicker training. It's great for training tricks or individual portions of obedience exercises. First you train the dog that when they hear the click, they get a cookie; click=cookie. Once a dog performs a correct behavior, you click and treat. It serves as a bridge between a correct behavior and the reward. If you're interested, I can recommend a book or two that you can try with Sophie...she would be a great trick dog!

  • That was a wonderful visual!! Thank you so much! It's a variation of another rear-end awareness exercise I've done with another dog~I think this particular method will work VERY WELL with the dog you saw bumping his butt out!! LOL!! I love that the leash pressure becomes the cue to perform the behavior! LOVE IT!! You're awesome! Thanks for going to the trouble of doing that!

Keep em comin! Noelle : )
