Emmeleia is the 12th track of Into the Labyrinth by Dead can Dance. The 1993 effort Into the Labyrinth found Dead Can Dance mixing their medieval leanings with more exotic Eastern influences on Saldek and Yulunga, while exploring Celtic balladry on the traditional The Wind That Shakes the Barley and theatrical songcraft in their interpretation of Bertolt Brechts How Fortunate Is the Man with None.

Emmeleia is the solemn definition for the tragic Greek dance. In this acceptacion it occurs in all the ancient critical tradition from Aristossenus to the Byzantine treatise "Peri Tragoidias". Emmeleia is a slow, measured dance composed by slack movements and solemn pauses.
