The annual Beyond War Award was established in 1983 to honor the great efforts of humankind as it moves to build a world beyond war. This archival 7-minute video reviews the first five years of honorees. In the mid-1980s, the Beyond War Movement had over 24,000 active members in twenty-three states and internationally understanding that war had become obsolete and conflicts must be resolved without violence. Volunteer citizen-educators hosted thousands of "Interest Evenings" and hundreds of "Orientation Meetings" in living rooms and classrooms across the United States, and in Canada and Germany.
How wonderful to see these again. Yes, it is inspiring. Again, together, we can make a difference. Thank you.

Wow! What a trip down memory lane. And what a miracle that those space bridges worked, the heads of state participated, and all that went into making it happen. Thanks, Len, for putting this on line. Martin Hellman
