Visitting Cape Cod this June, Sai and I were happy to see a thriving beekeeping training program at the Cape Cod Museum of Natural History in Brewster: hive inspections as much as three times a week run by the museum's volunteers under the supervision of our devoted apiarist hope and guide in this inspection, 30 year Maine beekeeper George Muhlebach. George trained in Connecticut with Ed Weiss, the founder of one of my favorite clubs, the Backyard Beekeepers' Association. Check out BackYardBeekeepers.com.

George started beekeeping in CT way back when, and now on the Cape he manages 8 hives plus the museum's four. Here we locate brood, learn to move the bees gently with a nudge not a squeeze, watch a drone being born and locate the queen. It was a good day in Cape Cod!

Thank you Bostonian Lewis D. Wheeler,3, who shot this footage! Lew is hilarious and magnificent this summer as the ever-so-polite husband in Ionesco's masterwork, The Bald Soprano, at the Wellfleet Harbor Actor's Theater, in case you're there. Lewis is a Cornell-trained film producer as well as an actor and he volunteered to help when he heard I was making a film about saving the honeybee. ADarling!. And check out his ace film, Leading to War, a fine detailing of the media madness that got us into Iraq and now Afghanistan, two tragedies, neither one any good for the honeybees!

Let's help the honeybee! We CAN stop the Bayer Corporation which brought us the gas chambers, HIV tainted blood products for hemopheliacs and now neonicotinoids, their #1 pesticide which accumulates in pollen and destroy's the bees' minds and tummies. Check out the CBGnetwork at www.cbgnetwork.org/2518.html for all the gory details, and hopeful ones: Germany just banned the neonicotinoids, and the Coalition Against Bayer Dangers brought a lawsuit against Bayer for killing the honeybees of Germany just last month!

Please do biodynamic gardening, and really study deeply Gunther Hauk's Spikenard Bee Farm website essays and send him a buck. Read Hauk's Toward Saving the Honeybee on COMPASSIONATE ways to work with this divine animal. And love Her with all your heart. Please.
