All MTV Vixen/Madonna wannabes & American Idol hopefuls should watch a few clips of this real musician, songwriter & truly gifted vocalist & decide if whether they want to be MTV Soulless Chic Flavor of the Monthettes, or actually create art that will stand the test of time and make a lasting impression on people's lives.

Now that she's out there again GO SEE HER LIVE! This is a taste of her terrific humor! I saw her long ago. She was engaging & spoke w/the audience between songs & while tuning.
She kept bringing up her "Race question." Finally, while tuning her guitar she said that after all these years she may as well get it out there. She keeps fiddeling w/guitar & finally says "So, the big question, am I white, or am I black?" She grins, pauses and says "....Yes..." & goes into her next song! Brilliant!

Phoebe Snow is my Michael Jackson. She is my musical idol and inspiration. Her music has been the greatest influence for my singing and songwriting. I hope one day to meet her in person so that I can tell her how much she has impacted my life. I was deeply saddened when I heard about the death of her daughter. I was born Nov. '75 so that always gave me a connection to her. I began listening to her music at a very young age and it still continues to move me even now.

Get well soon Phoebe all my strength to you for a speedy recovery! Barbara

Phoebe... I've loved you all these years... you make me cry...I got to see you a year or so ago... You are a goddess and an artist of the highest order.

I couldn't agree more. I was born in 1972 and group up listening to Phoebe Snow. I can listen to her songs over and over again as if I'm hearing them for the first time. :)

A timeless classic!

This was taken this past Summer. She was still recovering from the death of her daughter, and just beginning to tour and record again. I think she has a newer CD dedicated to her daughter. In December 1975, she gave birth to a severely brain-injured daughter, Valerie. Phoebe resolved not to institutionalize her but instead care for her at home, which she did until Valerie died on March 18, 2007 at the age of 31.
