At what was thought to be the final game at Brighton's historic Goldstone Ground, frustrated and angry Seagulls fans expressed their disgust at the way their club was being run by invading the pitch causing the match v York City to be abandoned after 15 minutes. Despite incorrect accounts of a "violent riot" in the media, the protest passed off reasonably peacefully, the travelling York fans joining in to support their counterparts from Brighton in a show of solidarity. The match was replayed after the official end of the season, York winning a crucial game 3-1, securing their place in Division 2 for another year. Thankfully, Brighton & Hove Albion survived, and are due to move into a brand new stadium in Falmer in August 2011.
