I have the most boring accent in the British Isles - what we call a Home Counties accent. Not cockney, not northern not anything really. The cleverest moment on House was when Hugh, (Englishman playing an American) had to speak as an American trying a (not very good!) English accent. That must have been SO difficult to do - but he did it of course.

Ryan was clearly being comical. HOUSE is a FICTIONAL character and by commenting how he has an accent is merely mocking the FICTIONAL character. He obviously KNOWS hugh laurie is british. Defending hugh is implicitly insulting implying he's entire persona is encapsulated by the FICTIONAL character Dr. House. Misguided fools...
