Music and words by Paul Nahay.
I heard him talking on the radio
He's got a show called "Doctor Love"
He's s'posed to know all there is to know
How to heal a woman's heart
So havin' just broken up and all
I thought I'd give this "Doctor Love" a call
I figured I could use another point of view
But when I got on the line
He wanted more than just talke
He's got one thing on his mind
And he goes "Just call me Doc"
Told "Doctor Love" what made me sore:
The thousand promises, the million lies
And when I finished he prescribed some more
Of his professional advice
He said he thought I needed special help
Of course, the kind that only HE could give
So he invited me to where he live that night
But when I got to his place
I knew this guy was a crock
He's got this smile on his face
And he goes "Just call me Doc"
Just call me Doc
Just call me Doctor Love
You can trust me, I'm a Doctor
I'm a Doctor of Love
Went into Doctor Love's exam'nin' room
He said "take off your clothes, I'll be right in"
I said I didn't see how that would improve
My psychological condition
Told "the Doctor" I demanded to see
Credentials from a university, so
I was invited to peruse his office walls
But when I opened the door
My gut felt like a rock
There's this mattress on the floor
And he goes "Just call me Doc"
Just call me Doc...
Just call me Doctor Love
You can trust me, I'm a doctor!
(alternate verse)
Well, when he fed me his line
I knew this guy was bad news
He's got one thing on his mind
And he's got nothing to lose
