Xion: The sun sure is beautiful. I know we've seen
a lot of sunsets, but today's puts them all to shame. If only things stayed like this.
Roxas: What if we all ran off?
Xion: What?
Roxas: The three of us. Then we could always be together.
Xion: We don't have any place to run.
Roxas: I know. Heh, I was just thinking out loud.
Axel: Well, even if things change, we'll never be apart--
Xion: As long as we remember each other...right? Don't worry, Axel--we got your hokey speech memorized.
Axel: Just checking.
Xion: I'll have these moments memorized for a long time. Forever, I hope.

Usually this is the part where I introduce myself, my 'show' Amateur Extension Theater 2000, and possibly do a title drop. This music is much too somber for me to muster up the energy to do so, however.

Produced by Square Enix, Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days centers around a year in the life of Roxas. One of the more monumental moments in the young man's life is the day when he meets a hooded, enigmatic figure whose name he comes to learn is Xion.

A member of Organization, the same as Roxas, Xion is initially withdrawn and mute, following orders without question. Roxas, though, aims to strike up a friendship with his fellow Organization member. It isn't long before he's won Xion over, and along with his other best friend, Axel, the three are soon enjoying ice cream together and spending all their free time in the other's company. If only their carefree days could last forever...

Translated as 'Music for the sadness of Xion', Musique pour la tristesse de Xion is the character theme of Xion; it is a soft, melancholy tune that captures the nature of Xion well: hope, tinged with sorrow; light, tainted by darkness. Another of Yoko Shimomura's fine works, and a delight to extend.
