I know this might not be a popular opinion, but if you get scammed by a Nigerian 419'er, you fuckin' deserve it.

I'm 33 now. I got my first Nigerian scam email when I was 17, back on 1997. My first thought, when "Barrister Wizdom Eze" told me he needed help transferring US $35.5M to my bank account and that I'd get a percentage (for just a few thousand dollars, of course), was "Yeah, OKAY! Sure, this isn't a scam, or anything..."

They sort of are. What the scammers are offering are effectively money laundering or some sort of tax evasion rewards. So if you agree it is not legal 'easy buck' you imagine you are receiving.

I take it that people who fall for romance scams are just as greedy and corrupt as the scammers themselves? Some of the victims may like the idea of an easy buck but at least they are not committing theft like the scammers are. How do you figure they're just as corrupt?
